Due to some recent confusion on the details of early game access Stephen Reid has posted an update on how to ensure you get in the game earlier.

As was announced with the Pre-Orders, early game access is awarded on a first come first server basis. While there are still pre-orders available individuals who redeem their code now will not get in as early as someone who did it back in July. However in the update Mr.Reid states that this time difference is a matter of days not weeks.

Shacknews apparently got confused, and they're confusing you, so allow me to clarify. Nothing has actually changed since we announced pre-order access in July.

Everyone who pre-orders Star Wars: The Old Republic and redeems their pre-order code will get Early Game Access. Those who do this will be able to download the game client and play the game ahead of the release date.

While we aren't ready to talk about the exact timing of when Early Game Access starts (that depends on a number of factors including Game Testing and pre-order numbers), we'll announce that before the start date. Our planning accounts for allowing people to download the client before the Early Game Access start date, too.

However, when you actually gain admittance to Early Game Access will be determined in a first-come, first-served manner dependent on when you redeemed your pre-order code.

Without a doubt the biggest SWTOR news to come out of Eurogamer Expo was the release date announcement(see trailer after the break). As I'm sure anyone with an internet or cellphone already knows about it, let's take a look at some other interviews, gameplay, and info to come out of the show. The Q&A of the show took place during the meet and greet on saturday. Bioware's Daniel Erickson and Stephen Reid answered questions from fans on a variety of topics, such as how not to get your ass kicked in Huttball, guild functionality, and more. A few highlights from the Q&A courtesy of DarthHater.com:

Question about guilds. DE: Guild functionality, obviously creating guilds, correcting guilds, all that stuff, the stuff that's basically in the phase 2, not for the online stuff, which Stephen can talk about, but with the end game stuff, the stuff that did not make the cut for launch, is basically rankings, guild banks, all of that stuff. It is the stuff that's sitting at the highest priority post launch. So expect to see it in like, basically, the quickest...

This weeks Friday Update continues on the subject of companions with a Developer Blog from Senior Game Designer William Wallace. The article goes over some of the difficulties that had to be overcome with the inclusion of companion characters. Such as:

• How do you make each player’s companions unique in a world where other people are experiencing the same story with the same companions?
• How do you make companions a critical part of the player’s combat without stepping on the usefulness of other players?
• How can you make a companion character that is easy to control for players who don’t want to micromanage abilities, while also offering complex options for players who enjoy that style of gameplay?

In this weeks episode we pull two relatively obscure titles out of the sarlaac pit and back under the twin sunned light of Tatooine. Of course I'm talking about Star Wars Yoda Stories and Droids Escape from Aaron, so lets get to it.

Yoda Stories force lept onto the PC and Gameboy Color in 1997 and was developed by LucasArts. It takes place between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, in which Luke is completing his training with Yoda. The gameplay is very interesting in the way that there is no overall goal to complete. Players start every game on Dagohbah and are given a task by Yoda, usually to collect an object or rescue a character. To get to the final objective you have to complete puzzles, run errands, and collect items which get you to the next area and so on and so forth. The closest thing to a final confrontation is that after each five games you fight Darth Vader. Upon defeating him the first time you get a green lightsabre, twice you start with the force, and three times a second life.
