Alderaan is a mountainous, forested planet in the Core Worlds, one of the original founding members of the Republic, though it has officially seceded from the Republic in protest of the Treaty of Cosruscant. It has a very "renaissance" feel, with castles and noble houses engaged in bitter power-struggles. The Republic seeks to put House Organa in charge of things to restore the peace, while the Empire seeks to install House Thul as its political puppets.

Republic players will first start out in Pallista Spaceport near Organa Castle, in the southwestern Apalis Coast region, and will fight Thul forces. Empire players start out in the Rhu Caenus Spaceport near House Thul, located in Kaamos Territory in the north, and will pit themselves against Organa forces. In general, Imperials will stick to the north and Republics to the south for running missions, but paths may cross in the Glarus Valley and King's Pass regions.

    With the launch of Patch 1.7 comes the new event Relics of the Gree, set on the previously useless Western Ice Shelf of the planet Ilum. The event is currently set to last two weeks and will have players completing quests all over the western Ice shelf. The goal of it all of course being to increase your reputation with the Gree, and be able to get your hands on some of that shiny tron gear.

One of these new options are the Dye Modules which when placed in the new Dye Slot in the item pane, will change the primary or secondary or both colors of the gear.
