Balmorra (Area)

Balmorra is a war-torn planet that  has paid a heavy price for being an ally to the Republic. A world that is vital to both factions due for both its advanced droid and weapons manufacturing plus its strategic location to the Core Worlds. When the Sith Empire attacked Balmorra, the Republic initially defended the planet. Eventually, the Republic began to slowly pull their forces off the world due to the demands of the ever-increasing war, thus leaving the Balmorrans to fight alone. The Republic officially abandoned Balmorra in the Treaty of Coruscant, leaving the planet under Imperial control. However, they have recently began sending covert help to help the Balmorrans throw off the Imperial yoke.

Even though the Republic officially left, the Empire has had a difficult time subjugating the planet. The people of Balmorra despise the Empire, but they also have little love for the Republic. The Empire have begun increasing their forces to fully dominate the planet and claim the industrial might of Balmorra, while the Republic and the Balmorra resistance fight to thwart that goal.

Both factions begin their adventures on Balmorra at the Sobrik. The planet is used by both factions, but for different level brackets. For the Imperial side, the plots are designed around forcing the Republic off and taking control of the planet. For the Republic, the missions follow the plot of taking the planet back from the Imperial faction.
