Trying to decide if I would want to go DPS through the Vanguard or Commando. While I admit pulling out these giant guns and rockets of doom is sweet, so would blasting them down with a sweet rifle. Depends on how reliable DPS Vanguard is I suppose.
I'd go Gunnery or Assault Specialist (not in poll). Like with my Bounty Hunter, I'd be thinking about the advantages of being a fully armored damage machine.

Same. I love tanking, but to me a tank is up lcose and in your face. And for once I want to be able to throw out some huge hits. I've been a tank and a healer in too many games.
A medic who can wear heavy armor ought to be neat. When the NDA lifts, I'll say more.
Hrm that certainally is interesting, would like to hear about it once you can talk about it lol. Trooper is likely my first character, and might try something other than simple DPS.

Trooper is freaking awesome! Two words: Stock Strike.
Has anyone else who has played a trooper willing to share? Did you try healing skills? My trooper was able to solo quite a lot with patch heals. It was fun.
In beta I loved my gunnary Trooper. I was almost always in the top 2 dps in warzones, and questing was cake. However, I am going shield specialist in live as my friends need a tank.
To me, Tactics look pretty cool. The powers the trooper gets is pretty neat. I love how BW says: "effectively deal with close range combatants."

Again I say, I am a healer.
I got your back with the healing.

...things I say...
I am torn on this one between a trooper medic and one carrying a big gun.
The trooper medic will be much needed. In most MMOs, finding medics is a hard thing to do.
