I like to name my video game characters after something in the real world. Strange, maybe, but makes it a little more fun for me. For the last few years, I've recently been using names of engineers and programmers (ex. my WoW main is "Boggz", named after David Boggs, a co-inventor of Ethernet and my LotRO main is Leeborn after Tim Berners-Lee, the guy who invented the Web). But I'm kinda scraping the bottom of that barrell.
So, I'm getting ready to watch some college football today, and I'm thinking maybe I'll try using football players for inspiration for naming my SWTOR characters. But which players match up best with which classes? Here's what I have so far:
Trooper - fullback, offensive or defensive lineman. Big guys that don't get a lot of recognition, but take a lot of punishment for the team.
Jedi Knight - quarterback? coach?
Jedi Consular - quarterback or senior linebacker (the guy on defense that recognizes how the offense is attacking and helps his team adjust to meet it. Hard to find a healer parallel in football, that's the best I have so far)
Smuggler - dunno. Kicker maybe (strikes hard from distance)? Tailback (uses cover well then explodes at enemies)?
Sith Warrior - Defensive lineman or linebacker (crushes opponents)
Sith Inquisitor - tailback (strikes like lightning)? Quarterback? Safety (stands back, see the situation, quickly strikes/assists anywhere as needed)?
Bounty Hunter - defensive lineman or linebacker (after a target - the opposing team's quarterback)
Imperial Agent - same as smuggler, I guess?
Anybody else have any thoughts?
And EA wants to ream my Tight End? ;D

The Jedi Knight is the striker, all flash and full of himself but useless without the rest fo the team.
The Smuggler plays in midfield, nipping around everywhere and trying to be everyone's friend.
The Jedi Consular is a defender, keeping their head down at the back and hoping nothing comes their way.
The Trooper is the goalie, saving everyone's arse.
And the Force is FIFA; everyone must do as its says, and its embodied in a corrupt Swiss old man who would step on live kittens for money.
OK, thw analogy kind've runs out on the last bit, but you know I'm right.
