I found a great link that provides an alternate order for watching the Star Wars movie saga. The article discuesses a lot of SPOILERS (but I'm assuming everyone here knows them).
When introducing the films to someone who's never seen them, I think it fixes the big issues of watching them in the order they were made or the order of the story:
- The problem with Episode Order is that it ruins the surprise that Vader is Luke’s father.
- Release Order is also an instant failure, and the reason is a single shot.

That is one solid wall of text you've linked to there :). I'm definitely 100 percent behind a saga sans Jar Jar.
I'm good as that I bought the dvd editions that came out 5-6 years ago that had the bonus disc with the original theaterical release of the original trilogy. I haven't even watched the special edition versions of them, but basked in the un-retouched originals where Han shot first and Vader doesn't scream NOOOOOOO at the end of Return of the Jedi. The prequels do not exist but are rather a horrible nightmare brought on by eating raw fish heads and turnips!
The absolute worst version is when spike tv plays the prequels. Nothing like stretching JarJar out over 2 hours of terrible spike tv commercials.
I hear ya, brother. I think I'm being punished for misdeeds in a past life when JarJar shows up. I actually like The Clone Wars series, but they keep having him pop up on it and it makes me want to punch the tv.
Machete Order sounds neat. I'm gonna try it soon and see how it feels.
I have to agree with the Machete Order being a good way to include the crappy prequels. I do love the link to the little kid's reaction to Vader telling Luke who his real father is. Priceless! :)
