Ilum Datacron Locations

In this guide, we provide you with maps and complete directions to each of the datacrons hidden throughout Ilum in The Old Republic (be sure to check out our Tython Guide too). Datacrons are ancient devices that will provide you with permanent stat boosts, or matrix shards that can be combined to create items for your 'relic' equipment slots. On Ilum, there are a total of 3 stat boosts, and 2 matrix shards - complete details on how to find each can be found below.

Yellow Matrix Shard (308, -380)

This easy to get datacron is just to the South West of the Imperial Landing Shuttle and Taxi area. For Imperials it’s as easy as taking the main road west from the landing pad and looking for the first “house” on your left. The datacron can be seen just inside the doorway.

Republic folks may have a little tougher of a time as it is just inside the first line of Imperial Base NPC’s. Luckily these are only normal strength lvl 50’s, so just keep your eye out for other players and it shouldn’t be that difficult.

Endurance +4

At around (220, -100) take the elevator down into the large ravine below. Once down, hug the wall to your right and follow the first small path, also on your right. The datacron is a short distance ahead at the end of the path.

Willpower +4

The path to this datacron starts way up in the North, to the East of the Republic Forward Camp Heroic Area. At around point (1005, -1066) you will see a rough ramp of ice (look like steps) leading down into the chasm below. When you’ve reached the bottom follow the gorge North. At the end and on the right enter the crystal cave and hug the left wall. The datacron is behind one of the large natural stone pillars.

Note: There are a few strong and elite mobs along the path so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Red Matrix Shard

The same idea as the Matrix Shard located near the Imperial Base, the Red Matrix Shard can be found in a small tent just to the north of the imperial base at (544, 544). You’ll know it’s the right tent because it’s the only one with an open door.

Note:  Imperial players be wary of the champion level mobs roaming about. You should be able to maneuver around all of them but keep your guard up.

Aim +4

To reach this datacron start by heading past the Forward Alien Camp Heroic Area just to the south of the Republic Base. At the back of the area to the South East is an opening in the ice wall that leads to an exhaustion zone. On the right side of the opening hug the ice wall around its southern side through the exhaustion zone. You will find your datacron around the corner in a small clearing.
