Space Battle Guide: Fondor and Jabiim Escort

SWTOR Space Battles - Fondor and Jabiim Escort

The Old Republic wouldn’t be Star Wars if there wasn’t some space combat. After you gain possession of your ship, you’ll have the option of partaking in some space combat missions (also known as Space Battles in-game). To help you blast your way to victory in the Jabiim Escort (Sith Empire) or Fondor Escort (Republic) missions, Swtorhub.com offers you this guide.

The Jabiim Escort (Sith) and Fondor Escort (Republic) missions are one of the first three space combat missions that become available after you get your ship. The two missions are exactly the same with only the identity of the opponents changed. The objective of this mission is to escort a shuttle safely to its destination through a dangerous space battle while enemy fighters attempt to destroy it.

Fondor and Jabiim Escort Mission Briefing

Name: Jabiim Escort (Sith) / Fondor Escort (Republic)
Level: 20
Time Duration: 3 minutes, 26 seconds

Mission Description: Sith Empire

SWTOR Jabiim Escort Mission

Imperial Intelligence spies carrying vital information on Republic plans are attempting to escape enemy territory in a stolen shuttle. Republic forces are in pursuit, however, and have trapped the shuttle in a tractor beam. Reinforcements are needed to defend the shuttle and ensure the stolen data arrives intact.

Mission Description: Republic

SWTOR Fondor Escort Mission

An urgent distress signal has been detected in the Fondor system. Republic soldiers and colonists kidnapped by the Empire have escaped confinement and taken flight in a shuttle. All available vessels are requested to defend the escapees and ensure that some proof of the Empire’s aggression is preserved.

Primary Objectives:

  • Escort the shuttle to safety.

Secondary Objectives:

  • Destroy 25 enemy fighters.

Fondor and Jabiim Escort Strategy

This space combat mission is pretty straightforward – shoot every enemy fighter as soon as they appear on your screen! Take out ship turrets if you can, but make sure you concentrate on the fighters as it seems they do more damage to the shuttle. Keep an eye open for fighters that come towards you head-on. They can do a lot of damage to the shuttle before you really notice them. Keep the shuttle in your sights at all times as the shuttle will take a crazy path through the ongoing battle, skimming like a madman just above the hull of enemy capital ships.

Jabiim Escort Objectives

To make sure you pulverize the fighters quick as you can, make sure you upgrade your Beam Generators and Beam Chargers once you get your ship. Having an upgraded Missile Magazine really helps out as it allows you to fire and forget volleys of missiles against the fighters. Upgraded Armor and Shields help too in that it allows you absorb more damage from enemy frigates. Basically, start shooting as soon as you see the enemy and don’t stop firing until the shuttle gets to its destination safely. Then you can fly to the nearest cantina and celebrate your victory.

1st of all don't expect to succeed the first couple of runs, its not easy if you haven't played/finished it b4 (if you re reading this i guess you didn't ;) Ok, to escort the shuttle to safety at lvl 15 no upgrades you need a little uhm, well dosed kamikaze like mindset, and no itchy (missile) trigger finger, save your missiles for the last 35-45 seconds of the run, (this tact fully depends on it) thats when the shuttle cant take much more hits and the number of fighters will suddenly increase (of course they will ;D ) Don't pay any, ANY! attention to the turrets, focus on the fighters, try not to hit the shuttle (too much) or kill fighters when they're too close to the shuttle, the explosion will do even more damage and the poor little shuttle needs every last bit of HP for the final run at (30-40 secs left) at around 35 secs on the counter (right upper corner of your HUD) use your missiles on the fighters as close to you as you can, you need either a little above average reflexes or fly a few "reconnaissance" missions to learn the fighters attack pattern It will improve your aim and reaction time a lot, whichever suits your playing style/skills best Oh, and uhm.... a little luck the last few secs won't hurt ;) Good hunting, and dont give up b4 you reach lvl 16 ;D
