Does your character feel lonely while traveling throughout the galaxy in SWTOR? Are your companions not filling that void in your life as you quest amongst the stars? The answer to your need is simple, pets! There are a number of vanity pets that can be found or purchased in SWTOR to make sure your hero has the unfailing loyalty and friendship that can only be found in pets. To that end, Swtorhub.com has put together a guide to vanity pets found within the game.
Players love collecting things within a game, be it mounts, armor, and weapons, so it's no surprise that players love getting their grubby mitts on every possible vanity pet that can be found within a game. SWTOR is no exception to this rule and there are number of different pets found within the confines of a galaxy far, far away that players can purchase or find.
Vanity pets are non-combat companions for players. They are purely cosmetic and only serve as cute (or humorous) sidekicks as players adventure from one planet to another. They have no capabilities to help the player in any meaningful way, but players love having them along for the ride. Once you receive your vanity pet, you can access them by opening your Abilities panel (Hit "P") and then click on the pets tab to open your pet menu. Select the pet you wish to accompany you on your adventures and they'll appear next to you, eager to follow you. You can only have one active pet at a time with you.

Now my Interrogator Droid will find out if Gault took my last soda!
There are a number of ways to get a pet in SWTOR. Some you can purchase from vendors (with some conditions) while others you can find as loot drops or hidden away in some remote location. Some pets are only available during a special event, such as the crimson rakling, and some pets are only available if you bought a specific edition of the game. There are four main types of pets: droids, raklings, orobirds, and tauntauns. So, without further ado, let us examine the different vanity pets found within SWTOR.
Minimech CE
The Minimech CE is a mouse droid that players receive if they purchased the Collector's Edition of SWTOR. There is no other way to receive this pet.
Mouse Droid
The Mouse Droid can be purchased from the security key vendor for 25,000 credits. Players must have either a security key authenticator or the app to be able to purchase this pet.
Hutt Observer
The Hutt Observer is a probe droid that can be purchased from the Special Edition vendors found on the respective fleet stations. The purchase price for the Hutt Observer is 25,000 credits.
Rhythm Augmentation Droid

Orobirds are vanity pets that are hatched from various eggs. There are three different orobirds and each comes from a different type of egg. Once you have an egg, you'll need to travel to Tatoooine to the Judland area, where you'll find some structures (335, -1862). At the base of these structures (placed randomly) is a water access panel. Use the panel to get a "Refreshed and Sustained" buff. After you get the buff, go to the Czerka Archaeological Site found in The Dune Sea (-2329, -405) and you can stand between some solar panels pointing inward to hatch the egg.
Orokeet
This orobird is found on Alderaan and is hatched from an Unusual Egg. The egg can be found at the following locations: (1930, -1451) for Empire, (168, 1836) for Republic, and (-2469, -293) at Castle Panteer. The Castle Panteer egg will require MGGS from Lain-Richie, a vendor found at 1870, 1090. There is a four hour timer on the egg to respawn once it has been picked up.
Orosquab
This orobird hatches from the Mysterious Egg and is found in a loot drop from Doctor Lorrick from the Lost Island flashpoint on Hard Mode.
Orochick
The Orochick comes from the Wonderous Egg, which drops from Warlord Kephes in the Explosive Conflict operation. You'll need to do the operation on Hard Mode.

Taunlet
This little tauntaun requires a great deal of time and energy to capture it. Players will need to travel to Hoth to the Glacial Fissure (834, 759) and use the Ice Scrabbler Jerky to make the tauntaun appear. Once it does, then you'll need to use the NVSCCS (non-violent small creature capture system), purchased from the vendor Lain-Ricie on Alderaan, to catch it.
Taunling
This vanity pet can be found by looting the Exotic Animal Crate from the Hoth world boos, Gargath. He can be found on the Calburn Tundra at -2340, 400.
There you have it, intrepid adventurers. Now you'll have a loyal friend in the form of a vanity pet to accompany you as you quest throughout the galaxy in SWTOR. Some require a great deal of effort, while others only require the expenditure of credits. However, once you have one, you'll never be alone. Just see if you can collect them all. "Taun Fawn, I choose you!"
